Vissa dagar kommer man ihåg resten av livet

Det här inlägget kommer att ske på engelska eftersom jag skrev det här i ett mail först och orkar inte skriva om det på svenska. Men det handlar om gårdagen..

I woke up yesterday morning and realized i had no food at home and no time to go to the store since i was going straight to the pier. It was Thursday which meant that we had 36 costumers and the 2 top bosses of Apollo checking to see how everything worked. My boss was very worried about this and were on our back that everything needed to be perfect. The journey out was ok but when we arrive at Tachai there were big waves. It was high tide so it was still possible for us to get off the boat and on to the island. Normally we then teach people how to snorkel from the beach but it was to much waves and zero visibility (im not kidding, i could not see my own hand when i streched out my arm) so we instructed our costumers to take it easy and we would try later. Some people still wanted to try and one guy who traveled alone droped his camera. I spend an hour with him trying to find it, but since you could not see the bottom i knew from the start that is was a lost cause. Mr lonely guy was very sad and not only did he lose his camera he also ended up with sand in his eyes and when it was time for lunch he chocked on his food and threw up in the middle were everyone was eating (it was so not his day).

At 2 we still could not snorkel from the beach and now it was low tide so it was completely out of the question (one costumer who did not listen scrached her leg on the coral). We tried to use the dingey, but the waves were to high witch made it to dangerus and we had to turn around twice.

At this point we realize that it would not be certain that we would make it back. But all we could do was wait and hope that the water would calm down. Of course some costumers also felt the need to complain about the situation. At 16.30 the high tide started to come in which made it possible for us to find a way out (not where the line was because it was 3 meter waves there, but on the side were it had been to shallow earlier). An hour later we've almost maneged to get everyone back to the boat when the captain informs us that we not only have to worry about the fact that it will be dark but also that a big storm is coming and a fishing boat just sunk so we need to go straight away or we will all have to stay on the island during the night. We quickly get the last costumers onboard and leave, handing out life jacets to everyone informing them that they have to wear them. (On top of this I was immediately seasick when I came on the boat).

So we were finally on our way which felt very good but looking up to the sky we knew that it would start raining at any moment. We got all the bags stored under seats and move the children from the back to the floor behind the captain. The only space left for me was at the back. And then it starts pouring down cold rain. I am shivering badly by the time we finally reach the pier. I was grateful to be back on land, but not happy about being completely soaked and having to endure at least 20 min in a cold minibus.
I slept very well last night.
